Last week I shoot a music video for a new Irish band called The Nightlife, for their first single ‘Defeated’.

We went for a simple idea of having two actors, one male and one female, with each actors scenes filmed in separate locations. We filmed on a beach at sunrise and in a wooded area around sunset, both in Dublin.

The idea behind the video was to step away from typical music videos, having the actors portraying emotions and seemingly being distressed about something that the viewer isn’t fully aware of. We’ve left this open for the viewer to decide themselves and contemplate they’re own ideas as to what is going on in the video.

We had two fantastic actors on the shoot, Peter James Melrose and Leah Egan, who were a pleasure to work with.

The video is currently being edited and I shall post updates on it’s progress and in regards to a possible release date soon!
